Open Audit Findings

ISO 9001 Audit — December 2025

  • Type: Weapons-related
  • Result: Corrective actions currently in place
  • Severity: ❌ Unknown 🔴 — this is Pre-LOI Question #23
  • Status: All supplier CAs submitted and approved by LANL. Objective evidence submitted, in LANL's hands to accept and close out SCARs.

If CAs are major (systemic quality system failures), this changes the risk picture significantly. Major CAs could jeopardize certification renewal and LANL standing.

If CAs are minor (documentation gaps, isolated process deviations), this is normal and manageable.

NQA-1 Audit — April 2026 🔴

  • Type: Nuclear quality assurance
  • Status: Scheduled
  • Risk: This audit falls squarely during the potential deal timeline
  • Question: Does ownership change trigger reschedule or expanded scope? (Question #56 in deal/due-diligence)
  • Outcome: No known gaps. Have had certification for decades. Expects minor findings but no showstoppers. (Seller confidence high) (Question #24)

Risk to Acquisition

  1. Pre-LOI: Need at minimum a summary of CA severity (Document D2)
  2. Post-LOI: Need full audit reports and all open CAs (Document D15)
  3. Transition risk: If David Hand is the primary person who navigates audits, his departure creates risk. Need Salina's capability confirmed. (Question #14)
