Overview¶
This is a massive consumable asset that doesn't fully show on the financials/balance-sheet. The $773K represents thousands of individual items across:
Categories¶
- CAT-40 tool holders — End mill holders, ER-16/ER-32 collet holders, drill chucks, hydraulic holders (TENDO), shell mill holders
- Carbide end mills — Single/multi-flute, ball nose, chamfer mills (Redline Tools brand prevalent)
- Carbide inserts — Various grades and geometries
- Drill bits — Cobalt screw machine drills, spot drills, various sizes
- Reamers — Carbide reamers in precision sizes
- Taps & thread mills — Various thread pitches
- Boring bars — Multiple sizes
- Press brake tooling — Top dies, bottom dies, tap dies (extensive collection, many custom lengths up to 19')
- Power tools — Dynabrade sanders, die grinders, drills (Dewalt, Milwaukee, Makita)
- Hand tools — Wrenches, arbors, grinding accessories
- Welding consumables — Solder, filler metals, welding accessories
- Measuring tools — Criterion boring heads, micrometers, gauges

Value Breakdown¶
The inventory was counted and priced across three periods: - Main inventory: December 12, 2021 (original count) - Continuation 1: January 10-11, 2024 (press brake tooling, additional items) - Continuation 2: November 20, 2023 (power tools, hand tools, weld area)
Grand Total: $773,154.67
DD Implications¶
- Hidden asset: This $773K of tooling is a real cost to replicate from scratch but doesn't appear at fair value on the balance sheet.
- Consumable nature: End mills, inserts, and drills are consumed during use. The inventory may have changed significantly since Jan 2024.
- Press brake dies: Custom-length dies (up to 19') are expensive and job-specific. These support the fabrication capability.
- Brand consistency: Redline Tools is the predominant carbide supplier — suggests established vendor relationship.
